Seven-Hours Trip : Singapore

Singapore always has a place in my heart (this is the most awful sentence to start a blogpost but whatever). The city is just a perfect blend of rich culture and modernism. Plus there is always a place to take good picture at! The list of instagramable places in Singapore is endless and that is why I chose to visit this small country last month.
It was a veeeeery short visit (like really really short its only for seven hours) and the planning is only less than a week so the places I visited is limited also.

I went there by ferry from Batam, the trip was one hour and it costs me around IDR 400.000 for round trip. The weather is very Singapore (scorching hot and little wind) but it doesn't stop me from exploring the city.
I went around the city mostly by bus and sometimes MRT, as an Indonesian, damn I was so impressed at how neat the public transportation are and how the people rely to it and to their foot to get around.

Okay so when I got out from custom, I immediately bought ez-link card at the nearest MRT station. It cost $12, with $7 credit inside.

This comes very handy to get around

The exploring begin. I tried to not visit tourist attraction and chose to visit more unlikely tourists destination. Also I didn't visit any shopping areas because I came just to take pictures and walk around, that's it.

1) Henderson Waves

This place omg guys its just soooo amazing especially for you who has an eye for amazingly constructed things. Its a bridge, but the design is very eye-catching. I stopped at the nearest bus stop and took a long and pretty tiring stairs to got there.

I recommend to visit this bridge around the time where the sun sets or maybe early in the morning. Otherwise you will get tortured by the sun.

2) Ar-Rabitah Mosque (Tiong Bahru)

I accidentally visited this mosque because I got lost on my way to the MCI building but its really worth the visit. The mosque is clean and very different from most mosques in Indonesia. It has an elevator inside (I was like what???? Never seen something like this inside a mosque) and a canteen to to refresh my energy after walking around going nowhere..

3) Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) Building

This might be the most instagramable government building in Singapore. I just look around and sit at the bus stop across the building to take pictures and admire the colorful windows.

Right beside the building is Fort Canning Park, its a very nice park to walk around. I didn't visit it because my time is limited and also I already visited it before :(

4) Haji Lane and around

Who doesn't know this mainstream touristy lane? It was kinda crowded and I'm pretty sure a lot of Indonesians there when I visit the place because I heard a lot of Indonesian slang and terms being spoken by them...

5) Library@Orchard

MY FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WHOLE WORLD. Period. This place is like an oasis in the middle of busy and noisy orchard street. Its inside a mall but its very quiet wow it doesn't even feel like you are inside a mall in the middle of Singapore's shopping area. The book collections are very diverse. Starting from non-fiction, classic novels, to stacks of magazines for every social fabric. The ambiance is very quiet and library-ish I didn't wanna go home :( plus I took a lot of pictures there because every corner is not something to miss.
